WESTPARK TRAVELIFT
SUMMER SERIES 2005/6
Particularly if you are new to CCYC, here are some handy hints to the way we do things. Advice, helpful or otherwise, is available from any committee member.
- There are some published General Sailing Instructions – read them.
2. Local Courses are as per the Sailing Instructions `course sheet’ (but are the same as for Winter 2005. Special Sailing Instructions will be issued for `non-standard’ races and cruising events. Listen on VHF Channel 73 at all times, especially for shorten/abandon course and for guidance if the time limit is approaching.
3. Mark roundings are as indicated on the course sheet. Starboard hand for courses going down the harbour, port hand for courses up to Hobsonville.
4. Meola Yellow buoy is the yellow special mark near Meola Reef beacon. Currently it is replaced by a white fender style buoy with NAV006 on it.
5. The `Laid Mark’ is an orange buoy with a black cross and is laid on the day for those courses requiring it.
6. Pass on the main navigation channel side of all mooring buoys and moored
boats in or adjacent to designated mooring areas as shown as pecked lines on NZ 5322. Please carry, read and observe the information on the NZ 5322.
7. If not, and you hit the putty, on a falling tide, you can motor off with a penalty turn and a few other restrictions per the amendment to rule 42.3(d) in the Sailing Instructions.
8. Meals, drinks and prize-giving in the Club-house after racing.
9. Enjoy our great sailing area and facilities, and get it (your boat) out and use it!!
